On-line archives in the fiels of new media, film, education and science are becoming highly contextual spaces of encounters not only of different media but people in particular. New questions and possibilities, which digitization of audiovisual heritage brings into education and knowledge dissemination signify the evolutionary change in archive conceptions. Thinking about archives is heading in the direction of semantic web, nonlinear media structures an networked social technologies.

Archives in training and education

  

In the first panel, the creators of online archives of contemporary art and video art, streaming archives (internet TV and radios), collectively created media archive and online platform for collaboration in the field of science and education will present their contributuion in the form of case studies, analysing the aspects of online archiving theme – licence Creative Commons, copyright in internet, streaming formats, collaborative tools and evolutionary archiving structures – , becoming the basis for further discussion on online scientific collaboration possibilities with the use of audiovisual material.

Open audiovisual archives  (In English)

Online audiovisual initiatives, knowledge space Netzspannung.org and archive project of Ludwig Boltzmann Institute in Linz, conceive archive as an open space of cooperation and develop collaborative tools for information sharing. The project HYPERKINO introduces a new way of DVD film publishing, using hypermedia technologies. Two national film archives, Prague NFA and Hungarian NAVA, will present their projects of opening the film heritage to public. „Local“ Doc Air project, the only Central European initiative dedicated to online distribution of documentary films, will conclude the presentation.
